PRODUCER TAG № 0027
HONORABLE C.N.O.T.E. PRODUCER TAG
“Honorable C.N.O.T.E.”
Who voiced the Honorable C.N.O.T.E. tag — and where did it come from?
The voice is a friend who came through the studio in his early Atlanta years and cut a handful of takes. The first one was “freaky” — she was moaning — so he trimmed the front and kept the regal “The Honorable…” read that stuck, as he told The FADER. Like Ronny J's tag girl, she has never been publicly named.
C.N.O.T.E. dates the tag to his first Atlanta run after moving from Benton Harbor, Michigan in 2006 — “that tag is so old” — around his work with DG Yola. That makes it one of trap's longest-serving drops, predating his national wave by nearly a decade.
The tag became a fixture of the Gucci Mane universe: a 1017 mainstay with placements he counts in the thousands, from A$AP Ferg's “New Level” to Lil Uzi Vert's Luv Is Rage 2 and Migos' Culture II.
What songs use the Honorable C.N.O.T.E. tag?
- New Level — A$AP Ferg ft. Future (2016)
- 444+222 — Lil Uzi Vert (2017)
- Culture II (multiple tracks) — Migos (2018)
