Who voiced the ATL Jacob tag — and where did it come from?
Because the doubled name-check leads so many Future records, almost everyone assumes Future voiced it. He didn't — ATL Jacob has said the tag was improvised in a studio session by Young Scooter, the Atlanta rapper he came up producing for.
Jacob revealed the origin publicly in March 2025 after Scooter's death, turning the tag into a permanent tribute: every “ATL Jacob, ATL Jacob!” that opens a record is Scooter's voice.
The tag's ubiquity peaked through 2021–2022 — “Super Gremlin”, then the #1 “Wait for U” — making it the defining producer drop of Future's late era.
