PRODUCER TAG № 0007
MIKE WILL MADE-IT PRODUCER TAG
“Mike WiLL Made-It”
Who voiced the Mike WiLL Made-It tag — and where did it come from?
The whispered tag is voiced by Mike WiLL's sister Heysha, a songwriter — a rare case of a producer keeping the signature in the family. By his own account, the first records to carry it were from the 2 Chainz mixtape run around 2011.
The name itself came from Gucci Mane, who shouted “Mike WiLL made it!” on “Star Status Freestyle” — the producer adopted the shout as his artist name, then compressed it into the whisper.
His second signature, “Ear Drummers”, points to EarDrummers Entertainment, the company he founded in 2006 — and to Rae Sremmurd, whose name is “EarDrummers” spelled backwards.
What songs use the Mike WiLL Made-It tag?
- Black Beatles — Rae Sremmurd (2016)
- Formation — Beyoncé (2016)
- HUMBLE. — Kendrick Lamar (2017)
