TAKE A DAYTRIP PRODUCER TAG
“Daytrip took it to ten”
Who voiced the Take a Daytrip tag — and where did it come from?
Denzel Baptiste and David Biral met at NYU's Clive Davis Institute and started Take a Daytrip in 2014, almost as a class project. The stuttering, pitched-up “d-d-Daytrip took it to ten” became their calling card — though unusually for a tag this famous, they've never said who recorded it.
“Mo Bamba” (2017) took the drop from NYU dorm rooms to stadium chants, and Lil Nas X made it a pop fixture: “Panini”, “Montero”, and “Industry Baby” all open with a Daytrip announcement.
It's the rare tag that works at pop scale — a two-second hype meter that tells you the record is about to max out, which is exactly what “took it to ten” promises.
