Who voiced the Murda Beatz tag — and where did it come from?

The line comes from the hook of “AKA”, a track Murda produced for Toronto rapper Baka Not Nice — the “not nice” is literally his name. As Murda has told it, Drake heard the record and insisted he stamp the line on every beat he sent out.

Because the tag blew up on Migos-era records, it's routinely misattributed to Quavo. It isn't Quavo — the voice is Baka Not Nice, an OVO signee.

The tag turned a Canadian producer's name into a rhythmic hook of its own, riding records for Drake, Migos and Travis Scott through the late 2010s.
